God This Is Too Much: How To Keep Faith During Suffering
Physical, emotional, and spiritual pain is part of life. However, God has given us grace and power to overcome every trial. God has given us scripture to remind us that everything is going to be ok.

Here are some of my favorite scriptures that will help us keep faith during our suffering:

1 Peter 3:14 NLT
"But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don't worry or be afraid of their threats."

1 Peter 5:10 NLT
"In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation."

Romans 8:18 NLT
"Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later."

2 Corinthians 1:4 NLT
"He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us."

Psalms 91:1-2 NLT
"Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him."

Psalms 91:4 NLT
"He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection."

Psalms 147:3 CSB
"He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds."

James 1:12 NLT
"God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him."

James 1:2-6 NLT
"Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind."

Psalms 34:17-19 NLT
"The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time."

Romans 5:3-4 NLT
"We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

1 Peter 1:6-7 NLT
"So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold - though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

2 Corinthians 4:8-10 NLT
"We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies."

John 16:33 NLT
"I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world."

The Bible gives us great counsel on keeping the faith and enduring suffering at its best. Reflect and meditate on these scriptures when you're down and out. I've meditated and journaled about these scriptures for the past four months. God's word has the power to overcome any struggle we face. I hope these scriptures will encourage you and help you throughout your journey.
